After our Sem2 exams ended, everyone was busy. Busy packing, busy checking out apartments, busy getting ready to come home! But when all was done, it was time to holiday! London this time! Stayed at Jury's Inn which has become the hotel of choice when we go visiting. It's relatively cheap and the ambience is wonderful! :)

On the first day, we departed Dublin at about 10am. Reached London an hr later and dumped our stuff in the hotel. Then Stephen brought us to Chinatown. Had Msian food. Not bad. After Chinatown, we made our way to Madame Tussauds wax museum!

After toying around at Madame Tussauds, we made our way to Buckingham Palace hoping to catch the changing of the guards. However, that didn't materialise and we had to make do with just watching 2 guards exchanging places to prevent them from collapsing =.= Lame.

Next on the list was the London Eye! Was tempted to take a ride on it but the cost to get on it put us off :(

And that was our first day in London. Pretty hectic eh? The following day was much more relaxed. In the morning, we headed to Stonehenge!

After Stonehenge, we didn't do much and the next highlight was the opening World Cup match for England. Against USA. Our first experience of watching a WC match in a country which I thought had a real chance of bagging it this time round. How WRONGGGG I was.

The following day, London Bridge and St. Paul's cathedral was on the itenary. First up, the humongous St. Paul's Cathedral!

This is us at Quo Vadis, a restaurant serving traditional British food. We had Fish&Chips and Lobster Spaghetti although I seriously doubt the latter could be considered traditional British. Ambience was classy and food was good!

We then bowled, in the dark. Fluorescent balls and pins! Nice?

And this was on the last night before we came home. Giant Toasted Ants. Bacon flavoured!
Was curious so I tried and it sure ain't easy trying to put an ant into your mouth! Try it yourself!

And that was our London trip. Simple. And very very enjoyable! Owya, next time you are in London, do try out the roasted duck served at Four Seasons restaurant! Simply awesome! Trust me! Tata.................!

Paris!

And so, as promised here's the Paris post! As you already know, I surprised baby with tickets to Paris when we were having lunch at Howth sometime during the Easter break. 3D2N break to Paris! Have always wanted to go there!

After dumping our luggage at the hotel, we made our way towards the Sacre Coeur (I still don't know how to pronounce it properly! xD) which is supposedly a church. Didn't go in as we didn't have much time to waste. After that we grabbed a light bite before making our way to the Arc de Triomphe. The Arc is the focal point of 8 major roads in Paris and there's a long history of how and why it was erected. For more info, there's always wiki! ;) On the map it didn't seem far but by the time we got to the Arc our feet were aching like mad!

From the Arc we couldn't really see the Eiffel Tower although on the map, it's really really really close :( And so we decided to continue walking even though our feet was screaming for dear life. And after what seemed like an eternity we finally saw the iconic structure that is the Eiffel. Here are some shots of the Eiffel and the view from up there.

That was pretty much the first day. Headed back to hotel and recharged for the following day. Day 2 was Disney day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who doesn't love Disneyland? So we got up early and took the train to Disneyland! Once we reached, sleepy heads became happy heads! Now let's enjoy shots of Disney!

We stayed till Disney almost called it a day. Had to board the very-crammed train back to town. Rushed back so that we could have dinner at a restaurant recommended by one of the locals. It's called Au Claire de La Lune. Was really really excited. Along the way, something went wrong (misread directions I think) and we only reached the restaurant at 10pm sharp. The restaurant was already closed but the owner saw us and how eager we were to eat at their place that they agreed to let us in. And how thankful we are to him as we had a scrumptious meal there! The food was just amazing! Words CANNOT describe how good it was. Everything was good! From starters all the way to desserts! Everything was top notch! Here are some pictures of our very first French cuisine!

After having such a scrumptious dinner, we retired to bed knowing that the trip was drawing to an end :( Woke up extra early then made our way to the Louvre. And let me tell you, that place is HUGEEEEEEEEEE! We only allocated a few hours as we didn't really know how to appreciate art. But we got to see the Mona Lisa smile which is by far the biggest draw at the Louvre. We then proceeded to the Notre Dame cathedral!

Notre Dame was the last attraction on our list. We then went to the bus stop to board the bus back to the airport to catch our flight back home...... and that was our Paris trip! Overall, Paris is over-rated. Actually, over-rated would be an understatement! Especially their people and their manners, or the lack of it actually. Nonetheless, we still had a good time and that was our Easter getaway for our first year! Hope you enjoyed the pictures in this post! Tata!

We're backkkkk! Back home and boy does it feel good to be home! Pg food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The comfort of not having to walk everywhere we wanna go. Being able to head out in nothing more than shorts and a t-shirt. This is HOME!

We've been away for what seems like an eternity! Yet it's just been 9months since we left. 9 months doesn't seem long but trust me, it IS longggg!!!! Especially when you're away from everything and everyone! Oh well, we're back now and that's all that matters! :D

I know this blog has been neglected yet again :( but I don't foresee anything that will stop me from updating! It's the hols after all!

So.. The other day (it's always the other day cause we're always so slow at blogging :P), we went out of Dublin to a place called Howth. It's supposedly very popular for seafood. Our first stop was the fresh market. Bought some Baileys fudge and this :

We then saw 'wild' seals. Well, they're not in an enclosure, so technically they're wild. But they 'hang' around the same place every day, waiting to be fed by gullible visitors.

We had really good fish and chips there.. but they only have take-away. After that, we had some calamari and seafood chowder (my first time!! liked it!). We took quite a while to choose a proper restaurant to dine in, since there were like approx. 20 restaurants for us to choose. @.@ We finally settle for The Oar House. We had to wait 50mins for our table cause they had a full house (meaning we chose a good place ;D). The seals entertained us for the next 50mins. ^^

We ordered mussels with white wine and cream sauce, some raw oysters and seafood chowder - again. Thennnnn, Kit surprised me with an envelope (which I tore so quickly) containing a boarding pass to Paris!! Heh Heh Heh!! I don't quite know how to explain how I reacted.. Besides saying 'Seriously? SERIOUSLY?' repeatedly.. and asking for the date. xP Kit videotaped the whole thing though. We were supposed to leave for Paris the day after. So, can you imagine how excited I was? Seriously!

Anyway, after all that excitement, we bought some seafood back to attempt to cook ourselves a seafood dinner. Bought 2 salmon tails, 1 medium-sized fish and 3 small lobsters. I was quite sceptical bout the idea at first but you gotta be spontaneous at times, right?

It was one of those days where we just wanna take a break from our routine.. so we decided to go to the park (St. Stephen's Green) after our anatomy class. We packed some food and took our notes along (just incase :P)

We were planning to stay at the park for a few hours, so I brought out my notes to study. Unfortunately, it was freezing after a while (although I wore 1 tshirt and 2 jackets) so.. no more studying :P went to feed the ducks (and pigeons.. and some white looking ducks which can fly) instead ^^

there was this cute lil' pigeon which stood in front of us waiting for food! it ran away when I gave it bread :( oh well.. Kit said it came back and took the bread when I wasn't looking. :D

We went back to the park the 2nd time yesterday (much warmer now). Without food and notes. Kit decided to buy 1 whole loaf of white bread (which I told him not to) for the ducks.. cause the previous time we went, we didn't have enough bread for 'em. When Kit tried to feed the ducks.. they just swam away xD haha! Now we have 2 loaves of bread at home ._.

The day where an entire nation turns green! Everyone (well, almost!) had at least one piece of green on themselves. We woke up relatively early for a weekend, made our way to the main road in Dublin and waited for almost 3hrs in the cold for the parade to start. 3hours! Next year, if we do decide to go again, I'll make sure we wake up 2hrs later than this year! The parade was ok I guess. Nothing really spectacular that will leave one in awe or speechless. After International Night, we had IVs (inter-varsities). For badminton. At Belfast. So, after reaching home and cleaning up it was about 1am. And our bus to Belfast was at 5am. And to shower and get ready before heading to the bus required about an hour and half. That left us with about 2 and half hours of sleep. No way the ideal preparation for an IV! Nonetheless, we dragged our sleepy heads onto the bus and fortunately managed to squeeze in another 2hours plus of sleep on our way there. Made our way to Queens University and started playing. Don't ask about the results tho'. ;) We had fun! And we'll do better next yr! (at least I hope we will!)

Aloha!

Greetings everyone! How has everyone been all this while? All good I hope! It's been awhile, a LONG while actually, since we last posted. A lot has happened since then; friends moving abroad to study, my sister passing her driving test, baby dancing for International Night!!! and tons more! There's simply too many to list! Hence, you would now understand our exile - YET again, I'm SORRY! :(

So did not expect this! Anyway, thank you baby! I appreciate it!

After almost going mad preparing for exams, we took a well deserved break. We went on a short 3-day tour of Southern Ireland, more specifically Galway and Killarney. Both towns much quieter as compared to Dublin. A great escape from crazy uni life. Very relaxing I must say! Enjoyed it very much! Here are some shots we took of amazing Ireland!

Gypsy! On our third morning, we went on a horse-carriage tour to the
Killarney National Park. Park was a disappointment but this was our first horse ride!

My personal favourites are the shots of the Cliffs of Moher! In my opinion, those are spectacular sights! A must-see-for-yourself! All in all, a great trip. Short, but great! If there was gonna be a complaint, it would definitely have to be the lack of variety in food. By the third day, we were so so sick of bar food. Damn I miss Penang! Hope you enjoyed this post! Are out! JC1 (1st sem) results are out. We both sailed through. Thankfully! We both did pretty OK in my opinion. And 2nd sem is gonna start in 3days. Bummer.

As I sit in my chair listening to Kenny G on his sax, I can't help but think. Is it really worth it? Having to toil for what seems an eternity to score the best we can, only to do it all over again 2 months later, with the results from the previous sem meaning no more than some alphabets and numbers put together. And it continues. Results from 1st yr don't contribute to 2nd and 2nd don't mean anything in the 3rd and it goes on till the 5th (final) yr. In all eventuality, we are all gonna end up as doctors. White overcoats, stethoscopes, patella hammer bla bla. You get the picture.

Two scenarios.
Scenario 1.
Student passes all the way till 5th yr. Studies like mad for 5th yr and scores firsts across the board. Gets kudos. Goes on to become doctor.

Scenario 2.
Students pushes every step of the way. Scores firsts/seconds across the board for every single examination. RISKS burnout. Continues studying in final yr. Burnout might cause loss of focus/desire. Screws up a module. Fails. Does not become a doc.

If it were you, which would you opt for? Note the "RISKS" in Scenario 2. Scratching my head as I ponder on this. Before uni, I told myself that I would not be TOO obsessed with getting firsts as it would mean absolutely nothing in the following sem. That plan didn't go too well I would say. But why should I not be obsessed? We have one life. Why not push to test our limits? Why not live it to the max? And if I do burnout, I would like to believe that I can pull myself back up and have another go at it. Been living this way ever since young. Why should that change? Fuck it! Sem 2 here I come!

Edinburgh and Glasgow to be exact! And boy it was cold! Way way colder than Dublin! If I'm not wrong, temp. never topped -7! Brrrr! Had our first experience of snow! And the snow was heavy too! Blanketing most of Edinburgh! Left for Edinburgh almost immediately after classes ended. Much needed reprieve before stepping on the gas all the way till our last paper! I'll upload pics! They say a picture says a thousand words. I concur. Enjoy!

Hey all! Another long long hiatus! A thousand apologies to those who have patiently clicked on the link to this page over and over again hoping to have something to read! Some updates on what has happened since the last post (which was a long long time ago!) :

1. We went to Edinburgh and Glasgow for our Christmas Break! (more on this in the next post!)

2. We STUDIED! ALOT! (I couldn't believe the amount we were made to study in just 3 months! I'm pretty sure I have not done this much studying in such a short time - ever!)

3. We SAT FOR OUR FIRST MEDICAL EXAMS! (Outcome still pending! Results out this Friday! *crosses fingers and prays for the best*)

4. We went on a tour of Southern Ireland! Galway and Killarney! There are some really scenic shots we took that I'm sure will make you go "Ooooooo!"

5. We had our 2 week end-of-sem-break! And 2nd term is gonna start on Monday! :( *sigh!*

Just in case anyone was wondering, yes, we're both still alive! Barely! But still hanging on! :) Med sch ain't easy that's for sure! Then again, which course is easy once you're in uni? To all those about to enter uni this year, welcome to hell! :P

Dishes : Fried wan tan, 'Pak Choy', beef curry, beef with bell peppers and mushrooms, meatball and veggie combo, and egg. (yes, we don't really have name for the dishes :P)

Accidents : Broken cover. :P Akibat of buying low quality utensils :P

Dish : Chicken Rice!

More like baking :P we baked Oreo cheesecake!

I know it looks nothing like an Oreo cheesecake :P But it's out 1st time baking a cake!! Just incase you're wondering what are the white stuff on the cake.. well, Stephen didn't wanna throw the cream from the oreo cookies away, so we 'sprinkled' them on the cake while it was in the oven xP. FYI, it didn't taste bad at all! and the best thing was it wasn't sweet!!

Lesson learnt : put chunk in only when you're about to bake the cake. the chunks got too soft :(

Cooking 8.

Dish : Curry puffs :D we even kneaded the dough ourselves. VERY VERY unfortunately, we have no idea how to fold the dough so in the end, it turned out like that :

Lesson learnt : don't bother doing this again. just buy it instead :P

Hope to bake banana cake!! even though we have soooooooooo many things to do :( exams are only 1 month away! and we have cardsigning next week! grr!

Our first visit out of Ireland. It wasn't a very good experience for me.. but wtheck. I don't quite remember the details.. so this post will be brief :)

sorry for the short story. :P Maybe Kit would like to add in when he's free. Anyway, the following day, we had Nottingham Games. It's where all Malaysians around UK? compete with each other in games like ping pong, badminton, tennis, futsal, netball.. etc. I played mixed doubles with Kit for ping pong. I was so friggin scared cause I couldn't even play properly, but oh well :P

men's singles were playing first, so we cabut to find food. they were selling malaysian food in Nottingham U for that day so we waited for a bus. yea.. the uni is too big so most people used the bus to go to another building to buy food.

Anyways, guess what? we managed to win the 1st round against Warwick if I'm not mistaken :P:P:P was so surprised!! but we lost to UCL. I suck. and the girl could take Wai Kit's smash.. so.. :P:P After ping pong, we went to watch Chung Lee play tennis! He managed to get into semi finals if I'm not mistaken :D

We headed back for Dublin that night itself. Nearly missed our flight.

My 19th birthday actually started on the 28th instead. That night, after ping pong practice at RCSI, we came back to Mercer and Kit told me that the light bulb in the kitchen KO-ed, and asked me to check it out. When I open the door, there were people screaming something, which scared the hell out of me and i walked/ran away from the kitchen ._____. After a short while, I realised what was happening after someone said, 'Why she run away?!'. haha! It was actually our friends in the kitchen, wishing me Happy Birthday! :D

Lou kong planned the surprise thing for me! I didn't even suspect a thing! I didn't even plan to do anything for my birthday.. Thank you!! ^___________^ and also, Derrick and Stephen gave me a present too! Thank you! :D:D

By the time we finished the food, it was almost 12, so they decided to stay a lil' while more for my official birthday, even when they have classes the next day. ^^ So we played a drinking game (at least i think it's a drinking game) called 007.

On the 29th, lou kong gave me a cute and tiny chocolate cake for breakfast! I know it's bad to eat so sweet stuff in the morning but what the heck. It was my bday :P:P

So, anyway, after class, we went out with our friends for lunch at a place called Abrakebabra. I like their chicken shawarma :P really yummy! unfortunately, there's no picture of it to show you guys. I was hungry ^^;;; Afterwards, Stephen suggested we do something different.. like taking a bus without any seniors and get out of Dublin 1 and Dublin 2. Originally, I wanted to bake a cake in the afternoon.. Oreo Cheese cake :P so that 1. there's something to do on my bday and 2. i can blow my candle. That was cause I didn't know that I would be lucky enough to receive cakes. But I figured there would be too many cakes in the fridge, so we went with Stephen's suggestion. So, we took LUAS to Dundrum. The Dundrum Shopping Mall is the 2nd largest shopping mall in Dublin i think :)

We are so kuai, you know! We didn't spend on anything at all in Dundrum!! Well.. I saw 1 top.. which Kit convinced me that I wouldn't wear it more than once T___T Anyway, after Dundrum, we had a pumpkin-carving competition in RCSI, organised by CIMSA (Canadian Society). Our team consists of me, Kit, Tyson and Hossana. :) Only Tyson carved pumpkins before. It's the first time for the 3 of us!!

I actually won a couple of rounds!! :P Kit and Stephen stayed up the whole night since we had to wake up at 4 the next day to go to Nottingham. I was smart :P I slept!

PMCSA Sports Day.

On the 25th of November, we RCSIans headed over to UCD (University College Dublin) for our annual PMCSA Sports Day! We both were lucky enough to be chosen to represent RCSI! I played Mens' Doubles for ping pong and baby took part in the Womens' Doubles event! Unfortunately, we both lost! Both also by 2 points in the deciding set! Cibit right?! I played Volleyball too! We all had tons of fun! And came back with medals too! Losers on that day would recieva a silver medal! :P

First 17th in Ireland! ^^ First celebration here! On that day, we woke up rather late. And we left for lunch soon after. Along the way, we encountered some pretty interesting stuff! This is all on Grafton Street!

Oktoberfest!

In our second week, we went for our first Oktoberfest! The festival of beer and sausages! Our senior, namely Gan, called me at about slightly pass 7pm. Asking me to get ready to go for the Oktoberfest at 7.45pm! And we were eating at that time. Halfway thru, and we haven't showered yet. And the place is about 20mins away from where we live. In my mind, I was rather skeptical about this as I played a prank on Ganesan earlier in the day. But we went anyway! :P Met up with a few seniors and made our way to the Oktoberfest place (sorry! I didn't take the pains to find out what the name of the place is!) And the very first thing we did was to sink our teeth into these (below!)...

Freshers' Week..

Holla people! I know i know! It's been awhile since the last one..... Sorry! Anyway, here are some pictures to tell you of what we've been up to all this while! :) Enjoy!

This! Is a picture of the rising sun when we were at Amsterdam Airport, Schippol Airport if I'm not wrong! :P We had to transit here after 12 LONGGGGGG hours onboard the plane. Mind you it was sardine-packed and trust me, it ain't fun at all being restricted to so little movement!

This is a shot of Buger King's logo. Baby's first time having BK! But ever since we arrived here, I've lost count on the number of times we've had it! Arghhh! :( It has only been a month, but I'm already bored of BK .__. Just to add, BK outlets outnumbers McD ones by -this- much and KFC outlets by -------this------- much! ;)

Freshers' Week ;)

And this is Guinness. Like who doesn't know right? That black Irish drink everyone has talked about so much lately due to the founder's 250th celebration! Personally, I have not acquired the taste to fully appreciate it. :( But I should have done so by the time I get back to Pg! *wink wink*

You see, throughout Freshers' Week, the SU (Student Union) decided that it would be good thing to expose us freshers to this thing we call clubbing. Hence, every single night of the week ended with a session at various clubs around Dublin. But we being the kuai kids we are, only attended 2 out of the 7 sessions they had planned for us! See see! We kuai! :P

This is our lecture theatre (O'Flanagans Theatre). Lecture theatre by day, rock stage by night! And who ever said doctors don't know how to have fun?! Various bands belted out hits after hits after hits! With beer and wine being served outside, I'm sure everyone enjoyed! We surely did! ^_^

My first shot! Its called a Jägerbomb! Where one drops in a shot of Jägermeister into a glass of Red Bull. It's not THE strongest but it tastes good! :D And we had a couple of others and jiggy wiggied till about 3 in the morning. (Should have taken a video of Kit dancing :P:P:P haha! Had lots of fun!) Not bad la hor? Considering it's our first time into clubs!

Anatomy.

Just had the best anatomy class yet! Damn it was fun! Today we had to rip out the the head of femur from the acetabulum (you know hip joint, ball and socket? yeah! we had to rip the ball out of the socket!)! First we had to do the usual skin incisions, removal of fascia (connective tissue), clean the muscles and vessels.....bla bla bla. Then we dislocated the cadaver's hip joint i.e. twisting the cadaver's knee till the head of femur actually pops out of the acetabulum! Then the smooth head will be exposed and that's when I grabbed the electrical saw and started sawing away! :D :D :D After getting a groove, I took the chisel and hammered my way till the head of femur came off! It wouldn't come off straight away but after quite a few blows with the mallot, it finally gave in! And my whole group was so relieved! We were the only ones who managed to do it in time ok! And I had the honour of being the only one who did it! Happy nia! More updates soon! Take care all!

Yo everyone! How's everything? I know you might think that this blog has gone into yet another prolonged axile but fret not, it hasn't! It's just that both Khy Ching and me have been pretty busy to say the least here in Dublin. There's the settling in, buying stuff, cooking food (cos everything's so insanely overpriced here!), getting bank errands done, immigration crap and of course there's this one tiny thing we call studying! Trust me, it ain't called med school for nothing. To top all of that up, both of us gatal gatal go join soo banyak activities! To name a few, we joined badminton, ping pong, archery, PMCSA (Penang Medical College Students' Association). Yeah! So as you can imagine, time is very very scarce right now. A thousand apologies to all of you!

First of all, we're settling in quite well I would say. Adapted rather quickly! Which is good! But I do miss Penang much. The people! Family! And of course the world-renowned Pg food! Oh damn I miss it! Nasi kandar! Mee goreng! Ice kacang! Satay! Wan than mee! Nasi lemak! The thought of it wei! Like! Wth! I'm hungry now! :( Anyway, talking about food.....just so you know, neither of us have put on weight I think! But I'm also not sure that we lost any :S

The weather here has been kind to us. Hasn't been raining much! But it has been cold nontheless! Temperatures have scrapped a high of probably 12-13 I would say and usually hovers around sub10 temperatures for most days. Once the weather forecast said it was summin like 2 or 3 but I find it hard to believe considering I didn't shiver or anything like that! :D

And if there is ever one word to describe the Irish working ppl, then it would be INEFFICIENT! Like where else in the world would you find ppl needing to wake up at 3/4 in the morning just so that we can start queueing up outside the immigration office (its called the Garda btw) at 5am! This is so as they only entertain summin like 300 ppl in one day and apparently everyone wants to be in Ireland, for one reason or another! So we queue-d outside the Garda at 5am sharp and waited like dungus in the cold, mind you it was by the river!, till 8.30 when they handed us "student numbers". Yeah, even if you're first in line, if you're a student, you'll have to wait for ALL the adults to enter before you get your student number. Like wtf right? Students are being treated like second-class citizens! And we're paying the most money! Cibit right?! Anyway, we had to do it and finally had it done by 11.30 in the morning. Imagine that! You wake up at 4, walk all the way (approx. 20 min walk) there, stand in the freaking cold trying to tahan, pay 150euros!!!!!, and wait for 6 and a half freaking hours before you get permission to be in Ireland! Like omgwtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is tons to study! Like seriously! Now I know what Niresh and Anand meant when I asked them "how is uni?" only for them to say that "f**k college man, college is easy sh*t!"! The amount that we have to study is wayyyy more than college! Lectures are short (2hrs on some days, 3/4 on other days) but the amount of additional study that is required! One can easily go mental! No kidding!

It's almost 4am now. Gotta go study d! Gonna use an electrical saw to saw off someone's bone later! ^^ Sorry about the absence of pictures! Can't find my camera just yet! But pictures will be up real soon! And by real soon, I don't mean a week or so. Just a couple of days! :D I hope all of you are fine! Fill me in with updates! We could chat through skype! DO's & DONT's

Almost 5 months have passed since I first started working at Chili's. And now that I've stopped I must say that work ain't easy! Ain't easy at all! Especially on the days when I got crazily long hours! Longest was 14 hours! 12pm to 2am! Cibit! But tips made it worthwhile on most days! The most being 170bucks in a single day! Not bad huh?!

Anyways, after being in the service line (as a waiter more specifically), here's a simple list of Do's and Dont's for all you people when you go makan!

DONT's.

1. DON'T ever ever mess with the waiter! Trust me on this! You wouldn't want to know what goes on at the back!

2. DON'T call for the waiter when you're not ready to order. Some people ar, damn k*ai l*n! See something nice ni put up hand d! Then when we go to their table, they see something else that's also nice and then can't decide. Then turn turn a few more pages, wanna change order. TOOT! And also, please do not call for the waiter unless the whole table is ready to order. Let's say its a table of 6 but only one person is ready, don't la call for the waiter and make him/her wait like a dungu while the other 5 ppl take their own sweet time browsing the menu! Pity the waiter man!

3. DON'T ask the waiter for a refill if you've finished but your buddy is gonna need one soon. Wait lar awhile. If you ask for a refill, then the poor guy goes and get you one but when he returns, your buddy needs one, and then he has to make another trip. Damn annoying k. I personally kena from one table of 4 ah-ee's! Ah-ee 1 finishes, ask for refill. I get the refill. When I get back, ah-ee 2 wants one too. So I go and get it. upon returning this time, ah-ee's 3 and 4 wanna get refills. My face damn beh syok d! But I still get the refills. And when I return, ah-ee 1 wants another refill! I was damn tul*n d I terus put up my hand and told her to wait! See! Understand now?

4. DON'T share drinks if the menu clearly states that free refills are only applicable if the drink is taken by ONE person. It's damn cheapskate if a manager drops by to inform you about it but you still continue sharing but saying you're not when you're asking for a refill. Tons of ppl do it and it's leaves a really bad taste.

5. DON'T make a mess of the place! Bear in mind that waiters are human too! Just the same as you and I. Given a chance, would you want to clean pieces of meat/fish/soggy fries/vegetables/stuff that you spit out? Don't think so. Yeah! So waiters are the same. It's not nice! So next time when you're done, KINDLY USE YOUR FORK & KNIFE/SPOON OR ASK FOR SOME TISSUE AND GATHER EVERYTHING ONTO YOUR PLATE SO THAT IT'S NOT THAT DISGUSTING!! Thank you! :D

DO's.

1. DO look through the entire menu before placing your order. Take your time. Order in a hurry and more often than not, you'll come to regret it!

2. DO keep your voices in check. There's a place and time for everything. For example, if you're dining in a restaurant, do keep it low as there are other ppl who might want to have a quiet meal!

3. DO listen when the waiter repeats your orders! I've personally been yelled at for apparently not taking down their orders properly when in actual fact I repeated their orders and they nodded and said "Yup! That's all!". Cibit!

4. DO be polite. Stuff like "Thank you!", "I appreciate it!" and "service is great!" means alot to the people serving you!

5. DO leave something for your waiter! That is, if the service warrants a tip! Be kind! Even a dollar would be ok! Trust me! Being a waiter is hard! And its not fun at all!!

One full year has elapsed now! A whole 365 days! It seemed just yesterday that prom was on. And within a blink of an eye, it's our first anniversary! Time flies doesn't it?! Well, on the 16th, we went out makan at Sakae's and baby was tired due to drama marathon (Gem of Life) the night before. So after makan, I kinda "went back" home but I lied! :P I just went one round and went back to her place (cause I wouldn't go to the beach at night). Then I took this (below!) out of my car booth and lighted it one candle by one candle till the whole board was lighted up! Nice ar? and I surprised baby just a lil' past midnight! (So very surprised eh! I thought people only do that at the beach! Heeeeeeeee!!!!)

And that was the start to the 17th! In the morning, I went over to baby's place and fetched her! Was wearing my Nautica polo! My favourite polo! And baby was wearing the red dress I got her from TopShop! First we had subway for breakfast! (got reason wan k!) Then we had fishies nibbling our feet! HappyFeet at Batu Ferringhi! They were so small the last time I went!! They're so big now @____@ scary!!

And how is it possible that a special day is complete if we don't get to eat Nando's? (uhuh, uhuh!!) Lunch at Nando's QB! That's before we headed to Pg Hill! Wanted to watch sunset but plan kinda failed! Up there cannot see wan! T___T (Can see! But we were at the wrong side :P)

After the disappointment of not being able to see the sun set, we headed back down and to Eden for dinner! The ambience is fantastic! Dim lighting, soothing music, and a lit candle on the table! Need I say more? We had "Surf & Turf" which consists of a half portion of Lobster Thermidore (not THAT great!) and one portion of Ribeye Steak (tastes great! but portion's abit too small!) and the "Norwegian Fresh Salmon Steak" (which I must say tastes absolutely marvellous!). I agree! The Salmon was wayyy better than lobster! The mashed potato was good too!! Owh owh! Before I forget, we had shark's fin soup with lobster bits for starters! This shark's fin soup is definitely the best I've ever tasted and is a MUST TRY if you do dine in at Eden's at Hutton Lane!

Baby got her results today! And celebrations were definitely in order! Her fam and I went to a seafood joint in town (somewhere along Macalister Rd.)! I ain't a big fan of seafood but Cheese-stuffed Lobster was just too tempting! And so we ordered. And feasted! And the bill was by no means little! Had soo much! I've never actually had so much seafood in one meal till this day! I'm beginning to like them seafood! :( Cos seafood is expensive and messy! The photos shall show you the cuisine we feasted on!

Months since the 17th of August 2008. Day started off well with me heading over to baby's place to cook breakfast! English breakfast! We masak-ed together!

These were the uncooked ingredients! That I had bought yesterday!

And this is baby slicing up SPAM, my favourite luncheon meat brand!

We headed for Gurney! Was supposed to have Sakae for lunch but plan was scrapped due to very heavy breakfast! Reached Gurney and watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Not exactly a big fan of HP but I do follow the series. A big let-down I should say! It was draggy and dull. Gloomy. Baby was getting really restless and told me "Get over with the talking already! Get to the action!" And just after she said it, we both saw this :

Like wtf right? I've read the book but it was quite awhile back. And I honestly don't remember the book being anywhere near this boring! And to know that David Yates (the director) is lined up for the upcoming HP movies, *sighs*! Oh well, we walked down and headed over to Sakae's for dinner! Had our usual orders plus japanese-style chicken satay (way more expensive than the usual chicken satays we get!).

After filling our tummies, we walked around and decided to buy some materials for a low-budget scrapbook since we are in no position to actually afford the really really nice ones. And the glow on Ching's face after we bought those stuff really made my day! We had fries and sundae cones after that too! Then we headed home and that's all for today! Nights!

Jiuny and I went to fetch Aly from her house and we head over to Sarah's place for our 1st picnic! Sarah was already waiting in her garden when we arrive with lots of food!

Owh it's good to be back home! Three days tucked away at some uber ulu place called UTP (Universiti Tenaga Petronas) is just plain torture! Imagine hills, no tv, no computer, no heater and phone connection that sucks. It's effed up alright! One would imagine that with all the money that they're making, they would at least provide proper accomodation that at the very least be on par with AIMST. Hell I was wrong! First thing I noticed was that there was no cover over the lighting and there were exposed wires dangling from the ceiling. =.= Then, I went to the toilet and saw a pile of dog poop in one corner of the loo. LIKE WTF!!

That aside, the sporting facilities are quite good. Badminton, futsal, volleyball and tennis courts were all in very good condition. Properly maintained. Yours truly took part in volleyball. And we got our asses deservedly whooped. At least we reached the quarters. Lost to TAR College. And we were actually given a very easy time by them. They weren't even playing to their full potential. No where near full. And yet we lost by quite a margin. *paiseh to write here* Then later in the day we witnessed their true potential; they shook UTP (last year's champs) up properly! And they were just one point from beating UTP. Unlucky. Damn unlucky! They deserved to win!

That was probably my last volleyball experience. Painful but it's certainly obvious that without 6ft+ players, you can't do well in volleyball!

Baby's working now. IMY! And this is the first time I'm able to use the comp! My dad's been hogging the pc ever since we got back from hk. That and the fact that I've hardly been home means nu updates :( My apologies! Tomorrow, I'm off to Universiti Tenaga Petronas (UTP) in Perak for some inter-collegiate games. Volleyball's the game. Our chances are literally zilch. After last year's ass-whooping by UTP at the same competition, I ain't gonna be foolish and think we can progress past the early rounds. It's knock-out mind you. My bet is that we'll be back latest by Saturday. :D Which means I'll get to see baby even sooner! :D :D :D

A week after my exams, Kit finally has his 1 week + leave, starting from the previous Sunday. After lunch with his fam, we went for a few rounds of bowling at Penang Bowl with Melryn! Everyone had scores over 100! (Kit's highes was 135, if I'm not mistaken.) My highest was 70 T__T Paiseh-nia!!

Our tummy were kulu kulu-ing, so we head over to Goodall and makan-ed Western Food (me), Koay Kak and Fried Rice (Kit) and Panggang huu. :D Next! Batu Ferringhi!

We bought 6 pens :P (Look Below!) I know it's childish, but they're adorable!! The price was reasonable too! After bargaining a lil' of course. It's not all mine though! The lighter brown bear, tiger and hipopo pens are mine. The darker brown bear, koala and giraffe pens belongs to Kit ;D

We started our Monday with badminton! 10am to 12.30pm. It's been a long time since both of us exercised.. Our muscles are aching badly now T_T Makan-ed tandoori at Ananda Bahwan then we went back to Kit's place to play some ping pong!

FREEDOM! Ching's exam ended last Monday. After her last paper ended, I fetched her from coll to Gurney. Our tummies were growling! The moment we reached there, there was only one thing on our minds : MAKAN!!!!!!

The ever-satisfying Nando's was to be the place we filled our growling tummies! Even tho I have been working at Chili's for almost 3 months now, there's no doubting where my favourite makan place is! After that, we jalan-jalan & window shop till our first movie. I Love You, Man. Not bad le. It's funny! Laughed our a**es off! On a scale of 5, I would give this one a 3.5! Thumbs up! Definitely a good one to make any mood lighter!

Then we watched 17 Again. Starring Zac Efron. Who is kinda gay. (Adam Lambert's gay too in case you didn't know!) Nonetheless, we both enjoyed this movie. Not as good as I Love You, Man but still good. 3 out of 5 I would say.

After these two movies, our tummies were abit on the empty side and we decided to head over to Chili's for dinner. We couldn't even settle two starters and one wonders how ppl actually manage to down a starter and an entree along with a couple of beers to drown all of it. *scratches head* We had one order of chips and queso and a nachos. Yummy! But its a lil' too filling if you ask me.

Yesterday was the first time I was given a closing shift. And damn! Closing sucks! Damn tiring wei! Gotta do so much more than opening. On Wednesday, we went out to catch a couple of movies plus makan since her trials ended and I was having my off day! :D Downed Nando's for lunch and proceeded to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic and Fast & Furious 4 (FF4).

Watched Shopaholic first. Verdict : NOT a must-watch! No where near a must-watch actually! The entire show was very predictable from the first scene right till the end. Shopaholic wants to buy everything. Runs up debts with banks. Gets debt collector going after her. Manages to pay debts. Turns over a new leaf. End. Fantastic storyline! =.= To make it worse, the fashion sense in the show is just not that great. Wait! Too much credit given there. Fashion sense sucks! Out of 5 I'd give a 1. Yeah! 1.

Then we came out to look see a few cameras and video-cams. Been eyeing the video-cam which is rather slim one that Sony has been advertising about. It's slim for a video-cam alright but when you compare it to a normal digital cam it's huge! And the price is not that cheap either. Goes for RM3999. Then the T-77 caught my attn. It used to be RM1299 but has since dropped to RM999. I'm hoping that another month or so of patience will bring the price down even more. :D

Then, we watched FF4! The cast of 2 Fast 2 Furious made a return! The dood that plays Brian O'Connor! He's yeng man! Fast cars and drugs! They always go together huh? Out of 5 I'd give FF4 a 4! Value for money! Especially on a Wednesday! :D

After that, we had dinner. Tomyam at Teluk Bayan! And that was our Wednesday!

It's been a week since I started off at Chili's! How time flies wei! That being said, I've only worked 4days out of the 7. Learned loads. Menu knowledge is just too much to master tho'. You see, to go "solo" and have one's own ID at Chili's, one must have to pass 5 tests on menu knowledge i.e. what burger comes with what cheese and what garnishing goes with what salad bla bla bla. And the effed up part is that the passing mark is 90%! Yup! A tad high for a food server dun ya think? and there's loads more to learn. Everyday I start work thinking that I know my stuff and here comes along a customer who wants extra of this/don't want that/substituting sides. And then I scratch my head and press press press the many many buttons on the screen hoping I keyed in the right order. Made many new friends too. Managers are not all that bad. Can't say the same about the trainee manager tho' xD. I'm off tomorrow and tomorrow shall be a wonderful day! Can't wait! ^^

31st of March 2009 shall go down in history as the first day this lazy pig officially worked! :D Today, I went over to Chili's in the morning and got my attire. Most ppl were wearing black or blue. And so I expected either one of those colours le. Instead, I was given the red one! Damn striking wei! I like! All the colours not bad actually. There's black and blue and white too! Worked for 6 hours today (9am - 3pm) and at 3 I saw lou poh! Sitting down outside Chili's! Whee! Soo happy wei! Sadly had to take day1 test :( Can't spend time with lou poh :( But luckily the test nu that bad la :) Then after test be with lou poh :D but awhile ni :( Nvm! Tomorrow shall be all :D :D :D!!

Last night all Liverpool fans were treated to another goal-fest! This time round, Aston Villa were put to the sword. Mind you, Aston Villa were no push-overs themselves. 5th placed team in the best league in the world ain't all bad! By half-time the game was already beyond Villa's reach with the score at 3-0. And although it ended 5 to the good for Liverpool, some quarters might be a tad disappointed because the score could easily have been 7 or 8 for the home side. Contemplated putting this post's title as 5-star Reds but a tribute to the captain seemed more befitting. The number 8's hat-trick capped a truly memorable 10 days for the club!! This one's to him!! :D

Previously, we've only gone to Sakae Sushi to eat 'sushi'.. and by 'sushi', I mean only 3 things : Chicken Katsu Cheese, Salmon Teppanyaki and Tuna Mayo. Well, yesterday, we had more than our usual. We took a break from shopping and went to Sushi King (Gurney outlet) with my family for tea break/ dinner. My parents kept asking us to try, so in the end, we took :

That was all Kit and I tried. :( .. which explains the title. They have so many choices but we only tried so few. I don't remember the total number of plates we (mostly my parents and sis) took but they sum up to RM103.15, if I'm not mistaken. Luckily we had a 10% discount when we use the HSBC Credit Card and 3 RM30.00 Sushi King vouchers from HSBC Dine-on-us Promotion and guess what! We only paid RM2.80 for the sushi-s! xD That was the best part! :D

Emphatic! From the very first whistle there was ever only gonna be one winner. And it definitely wasn't the team in white. Rival fans might say that the game was won with the help from the men in black but I'm positive neutrals would agree with me when I said there was only one deserved winner. Sometimes, scorelines do not reflect how the game actually panned out but on this occasion, 4-0 was exactly how it was on the pitch. Don't believe? The political scene in the silver state is plain pathetic. Ever since that "somebody" got appointed the head of a certain political party in the aforementioned state, everything has turned upside down. Wrong has become right. Up becomes down. Black becomes white. Such has been the turmoil he has caused that for the first time in the history of a very small country that a state assembly had to be carried out under a RAINTREE!! Like wtf?! LMAO!!

I woke up this morning and glanced through the "nation" section of the papers as usual and instead of the comics making me laugh, the "nation" section did just that. It's absolutely ridiculous wei!! Go read it if you haven't. And one sub-headline in particular caught my attention. "Assembly under raintree is a disgrace, says ***** **". Read more about it here. I've got nothing against any party but none of this would have happened IF the "somebody" mentioned above hadn't caused so much havoc with "persuading/buying" representatives from a rival party. The people have voted. And on the 8th of March last year, their voices were heard. It is said that we, citizens of our beloved country, enjoy a certain degree of freedom of speech. What happened then? Why the need to win back the majority and wrest control from the choice of people of that state? Why? And about the sub-headline, which was more of a disgrace? The assembly under a raintree because they were barred from doing so at the state secretariat building? Or the sudden resignations of a few MPs from one party to be independent MPs who support the opposition party? You decide. For me, it's definitely the latter.

To add abit more, in one paragraph, it was quoted that a certain chairman of a long string of crap as saying "It shows how power-crazy ****** is,". Then again. Who is the one that's really power-crazy? Who is the one who started this mess? When did this mess start unfolding? You go think laa. The "somebody" will be the leader of our beloved country soon. Makes one wonder how things will pan out once "somebody" has even more power than he has now.

On Monday, had my ingrown toenail removed :D It was so friggin irritating man. Hurts the moment you put pressure on it. Best part was that he allowed me to watch the whole procedure from injecting the local anaesthetic to slicing my nail and yanking it out to burning the epithelial cells all the way to stitching the wound up :D :D :D Yeah man!! Whee!! Then on Monday I had this on my toe!!

I SHOULD be C-O-N-T-E-N-T-E-D. Got exactly what I predicted I would get. Yet an air of disappointment engulfs me. It's not that bad but it's not that good either. 2 and 2. For the effort I put in I should be satisfied to say the least. But I still can't get over the fact that I actually predicted that I would get B's :( I shouldn't be happy and rightly so but had you told me that I would have gotten this result when I was preparing for the papers in Oct/Nov, I'd take it without any second thoughts. But now that the results are actually out, I'm kinda bummed actually. The post about contentment was probably put up at the best possible time then. I'm :S currently. Drifting between contentment and disappointment. Leaning more towards the latter I should say. Oh well, the results qualify me for uni and that's all that matters, no? IF ONLY it was really that straightforward. Sigh. Mom says I shouldn't retake. She's probably right. After this few months who's gonna ask how I did for A-Levels, si bo? But a part of me wants to retake. Just can't accept laa....... Contentment. Sigh.
